Marc du Plooy

Marc is a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in the financial services industry. He holds a National Diploma in Internal Auditing, a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management and Internal Auditing, and a Post-graduate Diploma in Investment Management. His academic achievements include several distinctions and awards, and his postgraduate research focused on the Discretionary Fund Management (DFM) industry in South Africa.

Marc’s career began in the corporate sector as a statistics clerk and progressed through roles in internal auditing, finance, strategic management, and executive leadership, including serving as Deputy Managing Director. After a period running his own consulting business, he co-founded Wealth Associates in 2006. In 2025, following the introduction of new investors, he exited the business and returned to consulting.

He has a proven track record in business consulting, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and investment management. Marc is known for his broad leadership capability, commercial insight, and ability to turn around underperforming businesses, drive growth, and enhance returns. He served as Chair of the FIA’s DFM Committee, where he engaged with the FSCA and key industry stakeholders, and was also a Director of the FIA.

Marc continues to contribute to the industry through consulting, speaking at events, and participating in panels on business strategy and investment within the financial services space. He is valued for his problem-solving approach, commitment, and deep financial acumen.
